fender-1966-jaguar-blonde
Fender 1966 Jaguar Blonde

The Fender Jaguar, originally intended to be the pinnacle of Fender's line of electrics, had enjoyed a long and understated career as the unappreciated step-sister of the Fender family. Well, these shorter scaled, switch heavy, chromed out beauties are having a bit of a heyday, as they are being picked up by known musicians worldwide and given their due respect, as is well deserved: these guitars are great.

This particular example is a rare bird- blonde! The blonde finish was extremely uncommon on offset guitars from CBS transition era, with Olympic white being the much more common tone available. Even rarer is finding a blonde finish that has survived this long without having yellowed severely, as the particular blend of pigments used at that time was particularity susceptible to darkening over time.

This guitar plays great, due in part to a previous refret, but other than a replaced output jack, everything else is all original. The neck is a comfortable smaller C, with a gorgeous rosewood fingerboard, and the pickups are great, warm, and very transparent. The finish has a few nicks and dings, but mostly presents as clean, shiny and gorgeous. The bridge cover is not included. Serial #180251 comes with the original hard shell case.
