Description

R454B, commonly referred to as a lower-GWP alternative to R410A, is a zeotropic refrigerant blend used in new air conditioning, heat pump, and chiller systems designed specifically for R454B. With zero ozone depletion potential, a GWP of about 466 (AR4), and an A2L mildly flammable classification, it has become an important option for OEMs transitioning modern HVAC equipment to lower-GWP refrigerants while maintaining performance similar to R-410A. It remains a practical choice for new-generation comfort cooling and reversible heating systems engineered for R454B operation and service.
